FDA clearance

Emsella® and Emsculpt NEO® are FDA-cleared medical devices manufactured by BTL. FDA clearance is not FDA approval, and it applies only to each device’s cleared indications:

• Emsella: cleared for electromagnetic stimulation of the pelvic floor muscles to rehabilitate weak pelvic muscles and restore neuromuscular control for the treatment of male and female urinary incontinence. Emsella is not cleared to treat sexual dysfunction.
• Emsculpt NEO: cleared for non-invasive lipolysis (fat reduction) and circumference reduction of the abdomen and thighs, lipolysis of the flanks and upper arms (with skin-type and BMI limits), and strengthening and toning of the muscles of the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, calves and arms. It is not a weight-loss treatment and is not a treatment for diastasis recti.

Contraindications

These treatments are not appropriate for everyone. They are not performed during pregnancy or for people with electronic implants (such as pacemakers, defibrillators, neurostimulators or drug pumps) or metal implants in or near the treatment area. Other conditions, including active cancer, heart or lung disease, bleeding disorders, fever, acute inflammation and recent surgery, may also make you ineligible.
